SAMMinistries proudly presents the 26th Annual Empty Bowls with the support of the San Antonio Potters Guild, the San Antonio Glass Art Guild, and the Alamo Woodturners Association. This beloved community event showcases the incredible talent of local artisans, live music, a silent auction, food, fun, and fellowship, all while increasing awareness of homelessness and food insecurity.

The Empty Bowls Experience
Empty Bowls is free and open to the public. When you purchase a bowl, you will receive a bowl of soup and a piece of bread. This small meal serves to make us mindful of people facing homelessness in our community, who often go hungry every day.

Each bowl is $30, or you can purchase 4 for $100. Each bowl purchased comes with a serving of soup and bread of your choice. You can enjoy the soup on site or take it to go.

For just $150, VIPs will receive special on-site parking, 30-minute early access to select two Signature Bowls, and a commemorative apron. VIP Ticket Sales Are Coming Soon!

Start your week with clarity and calm. Join the Heartfulness Institute San Antonio for a free, guided meditation session designed to help you relax, center yourself, and restore balance. Open to all experience levels — no prior meditation practice needed. Each session begins with a gentle breathing technique and is followed by Guided Heartfulness Relaxation and Meditation, perfect for both first-time and experienced meditators alike.

This weekly community offering is supported by the Mayor’s Fitness Council and presented in partnership with San Antonio Parks & Recreation.

Some of nature's best moments happen when you slow down. Join Picture Your World on Sunday, November 15, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Mitchell Lake Audubon Center for an afternoon of photography, hiking, and outdoor discovery. Explore peaceful wetland trails, look for colorful fall scenery, watch for birds and other wildlife, and discover how patience can lead to unforgettable photographs.

Designed for youth ages 8–18, Picture Your World encourages young photographers to slow down, look closely, and see the natural world from a new perspective. Every Picture Your World workshop explores a different park, and this month you'll discover how wildlife thrives right in the heart of the city.
No photography experience is needed. Green Spaces Alliance provides digital cameras, hands on photography instruction, and a guided hike with a Master Naturalist.

The registration fee is $15 per youth participant. Some scholarships are available updon request. Advanced registration is required.

Join hundreds of San Antonians for a joyful celebration of Handel’s Messiah where audience members become part of the performance.

This year’s sing-along supports the Center for Refugee Services and their work helping refugee children and families build new lives in San Antonio.

Alamo City Symphony Viva presents "Tragedy & Triumph," the third concert of the 2026-2027 season featuring two monumental works of the orchestral repertoire. Experience the raw power and emotional depth of Sibelius' Symphony No. 1 in E Minor alongside the beloved Violin Concerto in E Minor by Mendelssohn, performed by Concertmaster Brendan Speltz.

The San Antonio Recorder Quartet will present a concert of fantasias from the 16th-18th centuries performed on a variety of Renaissance and Baroque recorders, from the tiny soprano instrument to the huge contrabass The event and parking are free.

The members of Die Künstler von Fredericksburg will hold their Annual Art Show and Sale the weekend of November 13 - 15 this year. All artwork will be original and presented by some of the finest artists in the area.

The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter is offering multiple scholarships for graduating seniors from Gillespie County high schools who plan to enroll at The University of Texas Austin (UT) in Fall 2027. To be considered for Texas Exes Scholarships students must
1) submit their admissions application to UT Austin via ApplyTexas or the Common App.
2) access the Texas Exes Scholarship Application at texasexes.academicworks.com

3) complete the Texas Exes Entering Freshman General Scholarship Application.

The application opened September 1, 2026 and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2027. When completing the application, students must enter their UT EID correctly; if the EID is entered incorrectly, the student will not be eligible for a scholarship from the Chapter.

A student’s Gillespie County high school zip code will automatically match them to the Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter’s scholarship pool. No additional forms or steps are required.

Scholarship recipients will receive a monetary award plus a one-year membership to the student chapter of Texas Exes.

“Divine Identity,” celebrates the sacredness of queer folks of faith by transforming their portraits into sacred icons. Inspired by other artist’s interpretations of modern day saints, such as art by painter Kelly Latimore and photographer Gabriel Garcia Roman, this project reclaims the traditional sacred art form of iconography to honor and uplift queer individuals.Visit www.divineidentity.myportfolio.com to view the series.

Salgu Wissmath (they/them) is a queer nonbinary Korean-American photographer based in San Antonio, Texas and Sacramento, California. Their work has been published in The San Francisco Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, Texas Tribune, San Antonio Magazine, among others. Their personal work explores the intersections of mental health, queer identity, and faith from a conceptual documentary approach and they are committed to documenting the LGBTQIA+ community from a decolonialized lens.

“Puro Conjunto: Border(less) Sound” celebrates how this uniquely Texan genre continues to thrive in San Antonio, the region, and beyond. The exhibit will highlight the people, places, and traditions at the heart of conjunto. Museum visitors will see conjunto pioneer Bruno Villarreal’s accordion, along with artifacts central to the genre—some of which will be on display for the first time--along with loans from the community and other organizations. Additionally, visitors are invited to get hands-on with a selection of musical instruments at an interactive station on the exhibit floor.
