Come one come all to a hands on weekly tea brewing class. Learn the simple steps to brewing a perfect, organic, all natural cup of hot or glass of iced tea any time. Do it at home, at work, on the road, literally anywhere you can get hot water (or cold water for cold brewed teas).
We will take all the mystery and angst out of tea brewing and explore the many health benefits of loose leaf and herbal teas. Find the one that is right for you with over 100 flavors and endless flavor combinations.

Hands-on History: Corn Grinding: Step back in time and discover the importance of corn in daily life! Join us for an interactive demonstration where visitors can learn about the history of corn, its role in food traditions, and how it was once ground by hand to make tortillas and other staples. Try your hand at grinding dried corn using traditional tools and see firsthand the effort that went into preparing this essential ingredient.
This event is free with regular admission. ($1-$5) Advance registration not required.

MACRI will be scanning historical items and recording oral histories to be preserved in its archival collection.

Participants are asked to bring items that represent some aspect of the history of Mexican American civil rights efforts. Scanned items will be assessed for inclusion in MACRI’s digital archives, and the original items will be returned to the participant. Digital copies of the scanned items can be emailed to participants to make it easy to share with family and friends.

Join us for a hands-on, community-powered workshop all about building healthy soil and turning food scraps into gold—aka compost!Whether you’re new to gardening or already getting your hands dirty, this workshop will walk you through the basics of soil health and simple composting methods, including an exciting live demo of vermicomposting (composting with worms!).

Join Morena for a fun hands on class where you'll learn how to use a stencil and glass paint to create your own Anthropologie inspired mug/tea cup! No painting or stencil experience required. All materials supplied! Projects will be complete and ready to take home at the end of the session.
Tickets must be purchased online at least 12 hours before workshop. No walk-ins. Space is limited. Tickets are non refundable so please plan accordingly before purchasing. Please have email confirmation / ticket readily available upon arrival. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Join us at Molly Pruitt Library for this weekly program on living well with diabetes. A Community Nutrition Education Coordinator with the San Antonio Food Bank will lead us through these classes. Throughout this curriculum, we will lay the foundation for understanding type 2 diabetes and teach various nutrition topics and lifestyle choices.

In this five-week series we will play together and engage in activities that encourage learning and healthy development while meeting and playing with other children and caregivers.
Each week, we'll also have a topic expert on hand to chat and play. You'll be able to ask questions and get information on raising healthy, happy children.
This program is designed for children 0-3 and their parents/caregivers. Older siblings welcome, too!
