Join Villa Finale and the City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation for a hands‑on, interactive workshop focused on an essential—but often overlooked—aspect of caring for older homes: wood window repair. Meet skilled window artisans and explore tools and techniques, including glass repair, deglazing and reglazing, and wood repair. Whether you’re an experienced homeowner or simply curious about preservation skills, this event offers practical guidance and up‑close learning. Light refreshments will be served, and attendees are welcome to come and go during the three‑hour event. Part of San Antonio’s Preservation Month.

The Train Collectors Association is dedicated to develop an appreciation of and to preserve an important segment of history - Tinplate Toy Trains - through research, education, community outreach, fellowship establishment of collecting standards, and to promote the growth and enjoyment of collecting and operating toy, model and scale trains.
At our May 16th, 2026 Annual Train Show there will be operating layouts (Austin Tin Plate Trackers), silent auction, workshops, an opportunity to buy/sell trains with vendors, door prizes, raffle, and refreshments. The San Antonio Art League + Museum will open its 96th Annual Juried Art Exhibition on Sunday, April 12, 2026, with a public reception and awards ceremony from 3–5 PM. The exhibition remains on view through June 12, 2026.
Selected from more than 500 submissions from across Texas, this year’s exhibition reflects the breadth and vitality of contemporary practice. More than $14,000 in awards will be presented at the opening reception.

Taste Texas’s brewing heritage at the site of one of the earliest commercial breweries in Texas. A beer package gets you access to the unique selection of beers on offer from 15+ Texas craft breweries, many of which are brewed specially for our event.
Guests can purchase a beer tasting package to enjoy the Texas History on Tap experience. Beer packages are $35 before April 16th. All ticket proceeds support the education and preservation initiatives of the nonprofit group, Friends of Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill.

Join sound artist Armando Estrada for an immersive oral history workshop celebrating San Antonio’s culture and heritage. Through group discussions and hands-on activities, you’ll learn basic audio recording techniques and the process of collecting and archiving oral histories. Participants will share their recordings on The Empower House 101.5 FM or at a community listening party.
The workshop is offered on two dates (5/16 & 9/12); each date is the same workshop with a different cohort. Register for your date of choice on specifically dated listing.

Join us for Zine Lab Monthly to learn about zines and the basics of creating your own self-published works! Craft and art supplies will be provided for use during the program, but you are also welcome to bring your own.
A zine (pronounced ZEEN) is an independently published magazine or booklet. Using provided supplies, folks can create their own artistic mini books to express themselves and tell their own stories.
Participants are welcome to donate a copy of their zine to be included in our SAPL Zine Collection which is available for public use at Central Library and showcases materials written by, about, and for our community.
