But who were these women? How did they get to F1? And what barriers stood in their way?

Join award-winning motorsport historian Elizabeth Blackstock for an exploration into the fascinating lives of F1’s fastest women. Among them are Olympians, kidnapping victims, and LGBTQ+ trailblazers who all had one goal in mind: racing on the world’s biggest stage.

Join us for Zine Lab Monthly to learn about zines and the basics of creating your own self-published works!
This month, patrons will learn different creative paper fan making techniques.

A zine (pronounced ZEEN) is an independently published magazine or booklet. Using provided supplies, folks can create their own artistic mini books to express themselves and tell their own stories.

Craft and art supplies will be provided for use during the program, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Participants are welcome to donate a copy of their zine to be included in our SAPL Zine Collection which is available for public use at Central Library and showcases materials written by, about, and for our community.

Welcome to your favorite book club’s favorite QUEER book club! The Alamo Reading Rainbro Circle is San Antonio’s premier LGBTQIA+ book club hosted in partnership with Pride Center-San Antonio where members meet monthly to discuss the gay and bi male narratives that reflect our lives. Join us for community, connection, and conversation.
