The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter is offering multiple scholarships for graduating seniors from Gillespie County high schools who plan to enroll at The University of Texas Austin (UT) in Fall 2027. To be considered for Texas Exes Scholarships students must
1) submit their admissions application to UT Austin via ApplyTexas or the Common App.
2) access the Texas Exes Scholarship Application at texasexes.academicworks.com

3) complete the Texas Exes Entering Freshman General Scholarship Application.

The application opened September 1, 2026 and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2027. When completing the application, students must enter their UT EID correctly; if the EID is entered incorrectly, the student will not be eligible for a scholarship from the Chapter.

A student’s Gillespie County high school zip code will automatically match them to the Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter’s scholarship pool. No additional forms or steps are required.

Scholarship recipients will receive a monetary award plus a one-year membership to the student chapter of Texas Exes.

On 7 November 2026, the Riverside Golf Course, located in San Antonio, TX, will host our Capstone fundraising event to benefit the Tri-County Foundation Scholarship. This golf tournament is open to all personnel, spanning across tri-county area and as far as Dallas to Houston. Our foundation team would consider it an honor if you would participate in our tournament as a golfer or an honorary golfer.

The foundation benefits students enrolled at colleges and universities in the local area. Your contribution will lend critical support to local students and their families with a legitimate financial need for education. Because of your generosity, the endowment can continue invest in worthy young scholars who, despite financial constraints, are already having a positive impact in our very own community. It would be an honor if you were to partner with us and become a Friendship Sponsor to help provide needed financial assistance to our young men and women in our local area pursing a higher education. If you decide to donate as an honorary golfer instead, for every gift of $100/ golf ball, you can become an honorary golfer. “Divine Identity,” celebrates the sacredness of queer folks of faith by transforming their portraits into sacred icons. Inspired by other artist’s interpretations of modern day saints, such as art by painter Kelly Latimore and photographer Gabriel Garcia Roman, this project reclaims the traditional sacred art form of iconography to honor and uplift queer individuals.Visit www.divineidentity.myportfolio.com to view the series.

Salgu Wissmath (they/them) is a queer nonbinary Korean-American photographer based in San Antonio, Texas and Sacramento, California. Their work has been published in The San Francisco Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, Texas Tribune, San Antonio Magazine, among others. Their personal work explores the intersections of mental health, queer identity, and faith from a conceptual documentary approach and they are committed to documenting the LGBTQIA+ community from a decolonialized lens.

San Antonio area singers are invited to come and sing with Matthew Coleridge. The Christ Episcopal Church Choir welcomes Matthew Coleridge to their Requiem in a Day Workshop where participants will be singing Coleridge's sublime Requiem - one of the UK’s most-loved new choral works - under the direction of its composer.

Coleridge will lead participants through a day of singing, culminating in a performance of his beautiful Requiem, together with selected movements of his latest compositions.

This singing day is open to singers of all abilities, but basic music-reading skills are essential. Music will be provided at the workshop. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

REQUIEM is one of the UK’s most popular new choral works. An intensely beautiful and deeply moving piece, it has captured the hearts of singers and audiences around the world. In 2024 it was voted into the top 50 of Classic FM’s Hall of Fame, one of the highest-ranked pieces of contemporary music in the chart.

Those not singing are heartily encouraged to attend the concert - it will be an unforgettable experience!

“Puro Conjunto: Border(less) Sound” celebrates how this uniquely Texan genre continues to thrive in San Antonio, the region, and beyond. The exhibit will highlight the people, places, and traditions at the heart of conjunto. Museum visitors will see conjunto pioneer Bruno Villarreal’s accordion, along with artifacts central to the genre—some of which will be on display for the first time--along with loans from the community and other organizations. Additionally, visitors are invited to get hands-on with a selection of musical instruments at an interactive station on the exhibit floor.

Selena Forever | Siempre Selena is a photographic exhibition featuring images by Texas photographer John Dyer, capturing Selena at a pivotal moment in her rise to stardom.
On View: June 4, 2026 – January 4, 2027

This exhibition features intimate and striking photographs captured during Selena’s rise to international stardom in the early 1990s. The exhibition offers an intimate look at an artist whose talent, charisma and determination transformed Tejano music and helped redefine representation for Mexican American women in popular culture. The featured images have never been displayed together, giving new context to Dyer’s work with Selena.

More than a music icon, Selena was a groundbreaking Tejana whose story reflected the spirit of the American West itself: bold, resilient, entrepreneurial and deeply connected to culture and community. Like generations of Tejanos who helped shape Texas through perseverance, innovation and cultural pride, Selena forged her own path while carrying the traditions of her community forward. Her legacy continues to inspire new generations, embodying the pioneering spirit, creativity and determination that remain central to the story of the West.

“Selena’s story is deeply connected to the cultural pride and artistic expression that define Tejano identity,” said Jackson. “Her influence transcends music and continues to inspire audiences across generations, making her an important part of this broader cultural conversation. The exhibition shares an icon who demonstrates the lasting influence of Tejanos – and Tejanas – in Texas and beyond.
