To celebrate the dreaming life of our founder, Linda Pace, Ruby City will host its first quarterly dreamwork workshop with writer and creativity coach, Leigh Baldwin.

In each 90-minute session, participants discuss how and why to work with dreams, how to improve recall and recording of dream messages, and methods of interpreting dream symbols. Sessions will conclude by offering up dreams from our participants for group discussion and interpretation. All materials for workshop will be provided.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring the journey of Tango; from the roots of Argentine Tango to its evolution into the ballroom style known as American Tango.

In this engaging, beginner-friendly progressive experience, you’ll learn the history behind both styles while building foundational steps, posture, and connection, week by week. Discover how the movements of one influenced the other as you grow in confidence and skill.

No previous experience needed just curiosity and a willingness to move.

Link for registration (all dance classes) is on the 9/5/26 calendar listing. This is a progressive dance instruction series and attendance at all or most of the classes is preferred. Class dates are Saturdays, September 5, 12, 19 & 26 from 12-1 PM. Classes will take place in the foyer which is located in front of the auditorium inside Central Library.

This beginner-friendly workshop teaches you the basics of layout design, journaling techniques, and decorative elements. Just bring 3-6 printed photos and memorabilia (ticket stubs, notes, etc.). Basic supplies are provided but you’re also welcome to bring your own (stamps, stickers, washi tape, markers, etc.).

*Teens and adults welcome. Attendance limited to the first 10 people.*

Meet the composers who influenced Beethoven—and those he inspired—through music by his teacher Albrechtsberger, mentor Haydn, contemporary Hummel, and student Ferdinand Ries. Together, their works reveal the vibrant artistic community surrounding one of history’s greatest composers.

GEAA GALA 2026: Legends of the Past -Water for the Future

Celebrating the legendary waters that have shaped Texas—
and protecting them for generations to come.
In Texas, legends aren’t just people—they’re places. They’re the crystal-clear springs, winding rivers, hidden caves, majestic trees, and the aquifers beneath our feet that have sustained generations. These natural treasures are the living legends of our Texas landscape, and their story is still being written.

The Trinity Aquifer. Jacob’s Well. Medina Lake. Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. The rivers and springs of the Texas Hill Country. These waters have nourished wildlife, communities, and generations of Texans for centuries!

On this special evening at the legendary Victoria’s Black Swan Inn, we’ll celebrate both the rich history of this remarkable place along the banks of the Salado and the living legacy of the waters that sustain us all.

Join us as we celebrate the legendary waters that have shaped our past, sustain our present, and deserve a thriving future.

Fun dance event for all. No experience needed . Each dance is taught then danced! Line dancing in between. Classical live band.

On this guided bird tour around the various habitats of Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, guests will see at least 30-50 different bird species with our expert guide. Travelling by both car and by foot to access as many areas as possible, this tour is best suited for the birder age 15+ as it can last up to four hours, though you may leave at any time. Tours are limited. Bring your binoculars, bottle for water, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray.

“Puro Conjunto: Border(less) Sound” celebrates how this uniquely Texan genre continues to thrive in San Antonio, the region, and beyond. The exhibit will highlight the people, places, and traditions at the heart of conjunto. Museum visitors will see conjunto pioneer Bruno Villarreal’s accordion, along with artifacts central to the genre—some of which will be on display for the first time--along with loans from the community and other organizations. Additionally, visitors are invited to get hands-on with a selection of musical instruments at an interactive station on the exhibit floor.
