SAAL+M 95th Annual Juried Exhibition: CALL FOR ENTRYThe San Antonio Art League & Museum is pleased to announce a Call for Entry to all Texas-resident artists, including military personnel stationed in Texas, for works to be considered for its 95th Annual Juried Exhibition opening March 30th, 2025.SAAL+M, founded in 1912, is the oldest continuously operating arts organization in San Antonio. Up to $10,000 in monetary awards and recognition will be available. Artists working in all mediums except for jewelry and video are encouraged to enter their work. The submission period is from Nov. 17, 2025, to Feb. 12, 2026. Artists will be notified of their accepted works on Feb. 20, 2025.All submissions will be made online via the ArtCall (https://96juried.artcall.org) platform. Artists from across Texas can conveniently upload images of their work for review by our juror, Catherine Walworth. Catherine Walworth is Curator at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, where she brings a lively, cross-disciplinary lens to modern art. Her upcoming exhibition, Architects of Being: Louise Nevelson and Esphyr Slobodkina, debuted 2025 before touring nationally. At AMFA, she has also curated Path to Abstraction: Picasso, Braque, and Cubism’s Impact on Modern Art and Kwame Brathwaite: The 1970s, while guiding significant new acquisitions for the collection. Previously, Walworth shaped exhibitions at the Columbia Museum of Art, including Jackson Pollock: Mural and The Ironic Curtain: Art from the Soviet Underground.She holds a Ph.D. in art history from The Ohio State University, and her award-nominated book Soviet Salvage reflects her passion for connecting art with broader cultural histories. Artists do not have to be SAAL+M members to enter, however, they can join SAAL+M prior to submitting their entries. Their membership will be good through June of 2025. Luminaria announces its next Pop Up Art Gallery exhibition at The Aiden San Antonio Riverwalk. The Luminaria Pop Up Art Gallery… with “More than a Label” on 3rd Friday, January 16, 2026 and is part of Dreamweek celebrations.
The exhibit celebrates the complexities of identity through the canvas where artists are challenged to represent what makes them completely who they are. Celebrate the beauty of our various ancestral journeys and find common bonds that unite us all. Curated by Andrea V Rivas, Luminaria Fine Art Curator.
