“Puro Conjunto: Border(less) Sound” celebrates how this uniquely Texan genre continues to thrive in San Antonio, the region, and beyond. The exhibit will highlight the people, places, and traditions at the heart of conjunto. Museum visitors will see conjunto pioneer Bruno Villarreal’s accordion, along with artifacts central to the genre—some of which will be on display for the first time--along with loans from the community and other organizations. Additionally, visitors are invited to get hands-on with a selection of musical instruments at an interactive station on the exhibit floor.

Selena Quintanilla’s journey from performing at local events to becoming the “Queen of Tejano Music” with her family band Selena y Los Dinos, culminating in sold-out stadium tours, is chronicled through personal archive footage.

In a tradition that stretches back over two decades, URBAN-15's Creative Director Catherine Cisneros will once again lead a poised dance performance under the lights of Christopher Janey's "Passing Light" Solar Sculpture at the San Antonio International Airport.

Marking the official beginning of Summer, the Summer Solstice is the day (typically between June 20-22) where our sun is furthest north in the Northern Hemisphere, creating the longest day of the year.
Join us to learn how to create your own Snippet Rolls -- long strips of paper or fabric that are embellished and great for use in Junk Journals or as decorative elements or even turned into jewelry! Have you been wanting to learn how to make them or know how and want to practice? Then join us for an afternoon of instruction and making! These are the perfect way to use the up small bits of fabric scraps, lace, small pieces of paper, and bits of ephemera you've been collecting. Foundation pieces (wide and skinny) will be provided to get you started, along with tons of paper bits, ephemera, fabric/lace scraps. A sewing machine will be on hand for finishing rolls and there will also be hand sewing materials.
All materials supplied and no experience required! Feel free to bring anything you'd like to use for your rolls!

The San Antonio Art League + Museum proudly presents Summer Reflections, a vibrant group exhibition celebrating the richness, color, and creative spirit of summer in San Antonio. Opening June 21 and continuing through August 7, the exhibition features the work of nine distinguished and beloved regional artists whose varied approaches span sculpture, painting, ceramics, and mixed media.
Participating artists include Andre and Virginia Bally, Jorge Garza, Larry Graeber, Kraig Kiedrowski, Margie Hildreth, Dona LeCrone Walston, James Hendricks, Billy Keen, and Vikki Fields. Together, these accomplished artists bring a dynamic range of styles and materials to the exhibition, offering viewers an engaging visual experience inspired by the warmth, energy, and diversity of the season.
A public opening reception will be held on Sunday, June 21, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the San Antonio Art League + Museum. Guests will have the opportunity to meet many of the artists and enjoy an afternoon celebrating creativity, community, and the arts.
The Museum is open Tue-Sat, 10 am to 3 pm. Admission is FREE.

WHAT: A captivating large-scale immersive art experience, Otherwild, will transform the San Antonio Botanical Garden this spring into a vibrant world where wonder takes root and the sky comes alive.
Debuting Saturday, March 7, the exhibition features colorful visionary installations by artist Patrick Shearn and his internationally renowned studio, Poetic Kinetics, which is recognized for large-scale public art that inspires awe, movement, and creative exploration.
Otherwild invites visitors to step into a whimsical, nature-inspired environment where art and landscape merge. The installation will unfold into two distinct parts:
● Flora Borealis - a custom Skynet installation of ultra-lightweight, kinetic elements that float with the breeze, contrasting the SABG’s natural landscape
● Enchanted Trees - a sculptural grove of ten imaginary species, each with its own personality, crafted from reflective, movement-responsive materials that interact with sunlight and wind.
