Nov 07 Friday
The public is invited to Trinity University’s third annual Festival of the Arts, Nov. 6 to Nov. 15, on Trinity’s campus. Enjoy a visual art exhibit by Danville Chadbourne, performances of Cabaret the musical by Trinity’s theatre students, SOLI Chamber Ensemble concert, participatory art by San Antonio-based artist Mark Menjívar, and much more.
The Festival is free, open to the public, and family-friendly. Trinity University, 1 Trinity Place.
Solo piano concert by William McNalley.
The first part of the program will consist of works from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier along with transcriptions of Bach and his peers by composer-pianists of the Golden Age: Rachmaninoff, Friedman, and Godowsky.
The second half of the program explores an entirely different style. Novelty style piano works of the 1920s and '30s (sometimes called "modern" syncopated works) were the most immediate successors to ragtime. More virtuosic than ragtime, the novelty style was a backbone to the technical approach utilized by the strongest band pianists of the Jazz Age.

Dance is one of the oldest and most joyful expressions of being human. Dance connects us in ways words cannot: it is the language of the body and the heartbeat of community. Tonight's concert is a journey into that universal language. The orchestra becomes a living, breathing force of joy and vitality, celebrating the dance of life itself — its struggles, its triumphs, its unstoppable pulse.
This concert is a journey into that universal language. Across cultures and centuries, people have danced to celebrate life, to find connection, and to express their deepest feelings. Whether it’s the elegant steps of a ballroom waltz, the spirited energy of a street festival, or the ritual movements beneath the stars, dance shows us who we truly are: bodies alive with rhythm, spirits united in motion, hearts beating as one.
Join us one hour before each concert in the Feik Family Rotunda for a lively pre-concert discussion with guest artists. Gain unique insights into the music, the creative process, and what to listen for as the evening unfolds.
