This beginner-friendly workshop teaches you the basics of layout design, journaling techniques, and decorative elements. Just bring 3-6 printed photos and memorabilia (ticket stubs, notes, etc.). Basic supplies are provided but you’re also welcome to bring your own (stamps, stickers, washi tape, markers, etc.).

Buena Vida Fest: “The Concert to Stop Diabetes” is a free, family-friendly festival bringing music, community and diabetes awareness together on November 7, 2026, from 2–10 PM at Rosedale Park in San Antonio.

Enjoy live performances by La 45, Sonora Dinamita, Volcán and more, along with local vendors, health screenings and resources for diabetes prevention. Presented by the Social and Health Research Center (SAHRC).

In Texas, legends aren’t just people—they’re places. They’re the crystal-clear springs, winding rivers, hidden caves, majestic trees, and the aquifers beneath our feet that have sustained generations. These natural treasures are the living legends of our Texas landscape, and their story is still being written.

The Trinity Aquifer. Jacob’s Well. Medina Lake. Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. The rivers and springs of the Texas Hill Country. These waters have nourished wildlife, communities, and generations of Texans for centuries!

On this special evening at the legendary Victoria’s Black Swan Inn, we’ll celebrate both the rich history of this remarkable place along the banks of the Salado and the living legacy of the waters that sustain us all.

Join us as we celebrate the legendary waters that have shaped our past, sustain our present, and deserve a thriving future.

The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter is offering multiple scholarships for graduating seniors from Gillespie County high schools who plan to enroll at The University of Texas Austin (UT) in Fall 2027. To be considered for Texas Exes Scholarships students must
1) submit their admissions application to UT Austin via ApplyTexas or the Common App.
2) access the Texas Exes Scholarship Application at texasexes.academicworks.com

3) complete the Texas Exes Entering Freshman General Scholarship Application.

The application opened September 1, 2026 and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2027. When completing the application, students must enter their UT EID correctly; if the EID is entered incorrectly, the student will not be eligible for a scholarship from the Chapter.

A student’s Gillespie County high school zip code will automatically match them to the Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter’s scholarship pool. No additional forms or steps are required.

Scholarship recipients will receive a monetary award plus a one-year membership to the student chapter of Texas Exes.

On this guided bird tour around the various habitats of Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, guests will see at least 30-50 different bird species with our expert guide. Travelling by both car and by foot to access as many areas as possible, this tour is best suited for the birder age 15+ as it can last up to four hours, though you may leave at any time. Tours are limited. Bring your binoculars, bottle for water, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray.

“Divine Identity,” celebrates the sacredness of queer folks of faith by transforming their portraits into sacred icons. Salgu Wissmath (they/them) is a queer nonbinary Korean-American photographer based in San Antonio, Texas and Sacramento, California. Their work has been published in The San Francisco Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, Texas Tribune, San Antonio Magazine, among others. Their personal work explores the intersections of mental health, queer identity, and faith from a conceptual documentary approach and they are committed to documenting the LGBTQIA+ community from a decolonialized lens.
