This is a call for much needed volunteers for community events we host on the Southeast side of San Antonio, Texas! All our events are open to the public and to all of San Antonio. Our goal is to help bring much needed resource vendors to our neck of the woods and help support the many small businesses that make up our beautiful city! We are always in need of Volunteers to help with this events, from greeting attendees, answering questions, helping with event setup, giveaways, etc.
Our volunteer opportunities offer community service hours as well!

The San Antonio Art League + Museum (SAAL+M) proudly announces acclaimed fiber artist Susie Monday as its 2025 Artist of the Year, honoring her visionary work and lifelong contributions to the arts. This prestigious award, established in 1946, celebrates excellence across all artistic disciplines and this year shines a much-deserved spotlight on the expressive power of fiber art.Selected by a distinguished panel of national and international jurors, Monday’s recognition marks a milestone for both the artist and the regional fiber arts community. Her work—rich with color, symbolism, and cultural storytelling—has captivated audiences and elevated textile collage and surface design to new artistic heights.

Whether you’re starting your fitness journey or looking for a new way to challenge yourself, this class is about feeling good while building strength, mobility, and confidence. Strength & Sweat Fitness is a 60-minute dynamic workout combining kettlebells*, strength bands*, bodyweight exercises, and cardio. Designed for all ages and abilities, this class provides modifications to ensure everyone can participate at their own pace in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Duration: 60 minutesWhere: Will Naylor Riverwalk Plaza at The Tobin Center (weather permitting; indoor location TBA during inclement weather).What to Bring/Wear: A workout mat or towel, water bottle, and comfortable athletic wear with supportive shoes.Free Parking: Free parking is available from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the surface lot located at the corner of 4th Street and Auditorium Circle (142 Auditorium Circle). *A limited number of kettlebells and strength bands will be available. If you have your own, we recommend bringing them to ensure a seamless workout experience!
Boerne Book Festival 2025The Boerne Book Festival will take place on Saturday, October 4th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the grounds of the beautiful Patrick Heath Public Library in Boerne, Texas, 451 North Main Street. This is the signature program facilitated by the Patrick Heath Public Library.As always, the festival focuses on Texas and its rich history. Some of the highlights this year include: Bestselling author Bryan Burrough and his new book “The Gunfighters: How Texas Made the West Wild,” an interview with bestselling author Stephen Harrigan on his latest books, fan favorites James Wade and Andrew Porter on the Writers’ League of Texas panel discussion, and a cookbook author panel featuring several area members of Les Dames de Escoffier. Celebrate Archaeology Month with hands-on history! Visitors can try their hand at making their own clay pinch pots while learning about the tools and methods archaeologists use to uncover the past.
This event is free with regular admission.($1-$5) Advance registration is NOT required.

Join the Japan America Society of San Antonio's 40th anniversary at the 2025 Aki Matsuri. This Japanese Fall Festival is fun for the whole family with Japanese performances and games for the kids!
The event is free to attend with Japanese foods and drinks for sale at the festival. Local vendors will be selling merch, crafts, and snacks. We hope to see you there!
Do you enjoy high-stakes competition? Are you a fan of navigating Wikipedia pages and learning new things? If so, take part in Mammen Family Public Library’s Wikirace Tournament!
The goal of Wikirace is to get from one Wikipedia to another by only using links on the Wikipedia pages. In our tournament, teams of adults will be competing to see who can complete this challenge the fastest.
Competitors will be competing in teams arranged by age group: Ages 18 - 35 Ages 36 - 55 Ages 55+
