San Antonio, TX — Enzminger Studio and R.E Foerster present Trouble in Southtown, a group photography exhibition exploring the layered meanings of “trouble” in one of San Antonio’s most dynamic neighborhoods. The show opens during Second Saturday, September 13, from 7–10 pm, and is part of the citywide Fotoseptiembre Festival.
Trouble in Southtown encourages audiences to look closer at the evolving character of the neighborhood through intimate and intriguing snapshots. From “good trouble” to “making trouble” to “there-goes-the-neighborhood” trouble, the works on view capture the energy, contradictions, and transformations of Southtown.
“Trouble invites change,” says curator R.E. Foerster, who has witnessed firsthand the palpable shifts in the community over the past decade. “These photographers are themselves local characters, not only inhabiting a scene — but documenting their view from within it. Participants become historians, valiantly battling oblivion from behind the lens. Trouble seems to be of vital importance, at the time.”
The exhibition highlights the work of Anders Lilleberg, alongside featured artists Domsquiat B., Fredrick Marc-Charles, Mike Shoemaker, and Patrick Zeller. Together, their images reflect both the grit and creativity that define Southtown.
Hosted at Enzminger Studio at 1906 S. Flores, the show invites the community to gather, reflect, and celebrate the vibrant pulse of San Antonio’s cultural hub.
