The San Antonio Art League + Museum (SAAL+M) proudly announces acclaimed fiber artist Susie Monday as its 2025 Artist of the Year, honoring her visionary work and lifelong contributions to the arts. This prestigious award, established in 1946, celebrates excellence across all artistic disciplines and this year shines a much-deserved spotlight on the expressive power of fiber art.
Selected by a distinguished panel of national and international jurors, Monday’s recognition marks a milestone for both the artist and the regional fiber arts community. Her work—rich with color, symbolism, and cultural storytelling—has captivated audiences and elevated textile collage and surface design to new artistic heights.

NOTE: SAAL+M is open Tue-Sat, 10 am to 3 pm.

Celebration Circle is an inclusive, multi-faith community with a creative approach to spirituality. We come from a variety of faith traditions and honor our diversity, choosing to focus on our oneness through creative arts, music, meditation, and sacred ritual. Enjoy FREE museum admission at Texas Science & Natural History Museum during H-E-B Free Fourth Sundays, held the fourth Sunday of every month. Explore the story of life in the natural world in Texas from the formation of our planet, through the age of the dinosaurs, into our current environment. See fascinating fossils and examples of Texas wildlife, touch real meteorites, and walk beneath the 33-foot wingspan of a pterosaur and tyrannosaur!

Dale Chihuly's art is celebrated for its vibrant colors, movement, and fluidity. Try your hand at this art style with a version of Chihuly's famous technique. We will provide supplies while they last.

Instructor Dr. David Katerndahl will focus on the fear-provoking and stigmatizing diseases with which our ancestors had to cope in 19th century America. In addition to discussing infectious, nutritional and maternal-child disorders rarely seen today, the session will explore the evolution of military and cancer medicine, as well as public health in San Antonio. Methods for learning about medical conditions of our ancestors will also be reviewed.

Free to members of the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society; donations from non-members are appreciated.

RED RIDING HOOD

When Wolfgang, the “greatest actor in the world,” sets out to perform his one-man version of the Red Riding Hood story, he’s interrupted by a delivery driver with a mysterious package and plenty of opinions about how the story should go. Together, they jump into a fast and funny retelling of the classic fairy tale, playing every role and discovering unexpected surprises along the way. This clever, energetic, family-friendly show celebrates courage, bravery, and the strength that comes from working together.

Join Carol in creating a beautiful butterfly suncatcher. Note: Some prior quilling experience is preferred but beginners are welcome. All supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring any Quilling tools they have.
