A Story That Demands to Be Told
In the confined space of a classroom, two women face an impossible truth: a fifth-grader has taken his own life. What unfolds is a gripping parent-teacher conference unlike any other, where a grieving mother and a tormented educator search desperately for answers. Was young Gidion a victim of cruel bullying, or did he inflict pain on others? As layers of truth peel away, both women must confront devastating questions about responsibility, forgiveness, and the price of understanding.

URBAN-15’s proud tradition of presenting the Manhattan Short Film Festival continues this October! Join us on one of our four screening dates on September 26th & 27th OR October 3rd & 4th!

Screening films around the globe, the Manhattan Short has proudly become one of the nation’s first GLOBAL film festivals since its inception in 1998. The festival is one of very few that allows you, the audience, to be the judge by giving the opportunity to fill in voting cards at the end of every screening. In 2024, the Gold Medal for best film went to Irish film “Room Taken”. The best actor award went to Thomas Coumans for his role in the French film “Alarms”.

Each year, SAJF distributes grants to nonprofits in the San Antonio region for specific projects that will benefit economically, emotionally and/or physically disadvantaged individuals. In 2024-2025, we distributed $75,000 to 14 nonprofits in our community! We are pleased to announce that we will again be accepting applications for grants. Grant applications may be submitted by organizations recognized as tax exempt under internal revenue code 501(c)3 seeking funding of $20,000 or less. Now is the time to get started! This is a call for much needed volunteers for community events we host on the Southeast side of San Antonio, Texas! All our events are open to the public and to all of San Antonio. Our goal is to help bring much needed resource vendors to our neck of the woods and help support the many small businesses that make up our beautiful city! We are always in need of Volunteers to help with this events, from greeting attendees, answering questions, helping with event setup, giveaways, etc.
