Think Big! Movie Marathon Kicks Off 2015 Big Give SA

UPDATE, 4/29/15: We have changed the venue from the Pearl Amphitheatre to the Pearl Stable because of the threat of rain.

On the eve of San Antonio’s Big Give SA, Texas Public Radio is celebrating area non-profits with a “THINK BIG Movie Marathon.” This official kick off event will take place on Monday, May 4 from 7 P.M. to midnight at the Pearl Stable and include a special screening of three "big" films: Big, The Big Lebowski, and Pee-wees Big Adventure.

Everyone is welcome at this free event! Throughout the evening, TPR hosts will be invite you to learn more about the 877 charitable organizations that are taking part in The Big Give (disclosure: TPR is among those agencies). At midnight, we will pause to officially launch this year’s Big Give SA online, as donors give to their favorite nonprofits.

During the movie marathon, select restaurants and businesses at The Historic Pearl complex will stay open for food and drink.

The Big Give celebrates San Antonio’s spirit of generosity and supports the work of nonprofits during a one-day community wide giving challenge. On May 5th, supporters will take part in a 24-hour period of donations to their charity of choice, helping nonprofits receive additional prize incentives and matching funds from The Big Give S.A. Last year San Antonio raised over $2 million for 467 participating agencies. This year's Big Give goal is $4 million. Let's make it big, San Antonio!
