As part of The Gurwitz International Piano Competition, four of the jurors came together at the TPR studio for a wide-ranging conversation on art, discipline, and the lessons they've learned from a lifetime of music-making.

Over the course of one week beginning Jan. 26, music fans can hear some of the best pianists in the world perform at the Gurwitz International Piano Competition, which includes a focus on Latin American and Spanish music.

Originally scheduled in 2020, husband and wife duo Jolente De Maeyer and Nikolaas Kende performed at San Fernando Cathedral on Dec. 10, 2023 with special guest, Houston Grand Opera tenor Eric Taylor. Pianist Leonardo Colafelice, bronze medal winner at the 2020 Gurwitz competition, returned to San Antonio in March, 2023 for a recital that leaned heavily on Franz Liszt's operatic paraphrases.

Pianist Yedam Kim traveled from Paris to San Antonio to perform a Mother's Day recital on May 8, 2022. The program included music by Domenico Scarlatti, Claude Debussy, and a delightful arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody!"
