Pregame events continue before Thursday night's Valero Alamo Bowl featuring No. 12 Oklahoma versus No. 14 Arizona.

Tickets still remained at midday for the 30th Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome.

The 30th Alamo Bowl logo was painted on the 50 yard line at the Alamodome on Friday as preparations continued for the showdown between the #20 Texas Longhorns and #12 Washington Huskies.

The #20 Texas Longhorns will meet the #12 Washington Huskies in the 30th annual Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29 at 8:00 p.m. in the Alamodome. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Tickets are now on sale for two major college football games in downtown San Antonioin December.

Oklahoma Sooners interim Coach Bob Stoops could add the Alamo Bowl to a long string of bowl wins if his team beats the Oregon Ducks tonight at the Alamodome. Kick-off is at 8:15.

The Texas Longhorns will play Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio this post-season. The Longhorns have played the Oregon State Beavers twice. UT won both times. Oregon State does have a better record and a higher rank this season. The game is Dec. 29. Some expected the Longhorns to head to the Cotton Bowl. Instead, that’s where UT’s Big 12 rival Oklahoma will play former Big 12 rival Texas A&M on Jan. 4. The Sooners lost out on a chance to play in a BCS bowl when Mid-American Conference champ Northern Illinois moved up in the rankings and earned an automatic bid. The Baylor Bears will take on UCLA in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 27. Texas Tech will play Minnesota in the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Dec. 28. TCU plays Michigan State Dec. 29 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Other non-Big 12 Texas teams headed to bowls include Southern Methodist University—the Mustangs will play Fresno State in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24.
