“Puro Conjunto: Border(less) Sound” celebrates how this uniquely Texan genre continues to thrive in San Antonio, the region, and beyond. The exhibit will highlight the people, places, and traditions at the heart of conjunto. Museum visitors will see conjunto pioneer Bruno Villarreal’s accordion, along with artifacts central to the genre—some of which will be on display for the first time--along with loans from the community and other organizations. Additionally, visitors are invited to get hands-on with a selection of musical instruments at an interactive station on the exhibit floor.

Curated by Rigoberto Luna, the three exhibitions open onto three distinct worlds: one where spectacle turns symbols of power into play, one where our lives and actions extend beyond ourselves and become intertwined with those of others, and one where the archive is met not as history but as something living and present.

Annual pops concert features an A-List of blockbuster orchestral themes, including Conan the Barbarian, Robin Hood, John Williams’ tremendous Summon the Heroes from the 1996 Olympic Games, a beautiful duet from Wicked, and the timeless Lone Ranger theme from Rossini’s William Tell Overture.

This concert also features the orchestra debut of the “NFL on Fox Theme!”
