Prudencia Gallery is pleased to announce our exhibit with Artist Soon Y. Warren, "Refractions: the Art of Crystal and Color." The exhibit will run from June 6 to July 12. We will have an opening reception on Saturday, June 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. Soon will give her 'Artist Talk', June 28 at 3 pm.

Soon Y. Warren was born in South Korea and emigrated to the United States in 1987. Soon's favorite subjects are the beautiful plants and flowers she finds around her, often flowers from her own gardens.

Since Soon began painting full-time in 1998, she has had many exhibitions and earned numerous awards. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, the Southern Watercolor Society, the Society of Watercolor Artists, and the Texas Watercolor Society.

San Antonio's Parks & Recreation swimming preseason has begun! Beginning May 24th, 6 city pools will be open weekends (and Memorial Day) from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. Pools are free and open to the public. Appropriate swimwear is required and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dragons Love Tacos is a fun-filled production adapted from the New York Times Best Selling book. A sizzling story full of fiery fun for the entire family!

You know what dragons really love? Tacos, of course! They love chicken tacos, beef tacos, great big tacos, and teeny tiny tacos. While a boy and his dog are watching TV, they unexpectedly learn the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of what kinds of tacos to serve dragons. Unfortunately, when the boy throws his new dragon friends a spicy salsa taco party, red-hot trouble ensues!

Discover the dietary delights and dilemmas of dragons in this fun-filled production, adapted from the New York Times best-selling book Dragons Love Tacos. It’s a sizzling story full of fiery fun for your entire family!

Join us for an Opening Night pre-show Party in the Park, in partnership with Hemisfair, on Saturday, June 21st, starting at 5 PM! Enjoy music by DJ Mayhem, tacos, aguas frescas, and dragon crafts!

In the July bookbinding class, we'll learn about the fun history of the Leporello, a double sided, double direction concertina folded book designed for story telling, list keeping, or to be used as a memory book.

All materials provided; options for story telling elements will be available but participants are welcome to bring their own.

Please note that photographs will be taken throughout this workshop. These may be used by Spare Parts for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication. Please contact us at workshops@sparepartssa.org immediately if you have any concerns or if you wish to be exempted.

Tickets must be purchased online at least 12 hours before workshop. No walk-ins. Space is limited. Tickets are non refundable so please plan accordingly before purchasing. Please have email confirmation / ticket readily available upon arrival. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

URBAN-15 seeks talented drummers with experience from high school, college, or any musical group for the 2025-2026 season of performances. These performances include a wide variety events, including Dia de Los Muertos, Luminaria, and International Festivals. Interested drummers are invited to call (210) 736-1500 or email events@urban15.org, and to join URBAN-15’s drum ensemble during open rehearsals Thursdays at 7pm at 2500 S. Presa. This Open Call is FREE to join, and open to all members of the community regardless of age, race, or gender identity.

Drummers enrolled into the Open Call will practice the ensemble’s various performance styles and genres, including Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and experimental rhythms. Final selections to join the URBAN-15 Percussion Ensemble will take place at the end of the Open Call period during a formal tryout. Those selected to join will be expected to participate in the majority of the season’s performances as well as perform in gear such as illuminated costumes, helmets, and masks alongside URBAN-15’s Dance Ensemble. URBAN-15’s ensembles are close knit groups, and may lead to professional connections within or outside the musical sphere. Ensemble members are also asked to volunteer for miscellaneous duties such as parking assistance, kitchen aid, guest ushering, and more.

Presented by the URBAN-15 Group, the Josiah Media Festival is one of few film festivals around the world dedicated to showcasing outstanding works by artists 21 years old and younger.

The 19th JMF will accept film submissions from May 1st – August 1st, 2025.

The festival presents a career-defining opportunity for young media artists to showcase their work around the world. The festival was founded in 2007 in honor of San Antonio filmmaker Josiah Miles Neundorf by his parents, Marcus and Nancy Neundorf, who collaborated with URBAN-15 to create this event.

Now in it’s 19th year, JMF not only streams globally, but has grown to screen films submitted from all around of the world.

Enter your film in three easy steps:

2) Read through the Guidelines and fill out the Entry and Release Forms in full.
