On this guided bird tour around the various habitats of Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, guests will see at least 30-50 different bird species with our expert guide. Travelling by both car and by foot to access as many areas as possible, this tour is best suited for the birder age 15+ as it can last up to four hours, though you may leave at any time. Tours are limited. Bring your binoculars, bottle for water, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray.

Enjoy FREE museum admission at Texas Science & Natural History Museum during H-E-B Free Fourth Sundays, held the fourth Sunday of every month. Explore the story of life in the natural world in Texas from the formation of our planet, through the age of the dinosaurs, into our current environment. See fascinating fossils and examples of Texas wildlife, touch real meteorites, and walk beneath the 33-foot wingspan of a pterosaur and tyrannosaur!

Josephine Ortiz of the SA Food Bank will be on-site at the Thousand Oaks branch library to help with screening, applying or renewing applications for SNAP, CHIP, WIC, Medicaid and more!

Bat walks are back at Medina River Natural Area!

Kick off Bat walk season with us as we learn all about the many bats that live in Texas. We’ll observe Texas bats in the twilight sky and use a special digital tool to “hear” their ultrasonic echolocation sounds. Don't forget to bring your flashlights and wear weather appropriate clothing to view these nocturnal wonders! This family friendly in-person event guarantees an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts of all ages. We are so excited to see you there!

Inaugura con nosotros la temporada de caminatas para observar murciélagos, mientras aprendemos todo sobre los numerosos murciélagos que viven en Texas. Observaremos murciélagos de Texas en el cielo nocturno y usaremos una herramienta digital especial para “escuchar” sus sonidos de ecolocalización ultrasónica.¡No olvides traer tus linternas y usar ropa adecuada para el clima para observar estas maravillas nocturnas! This group offers a safe and nurturing space where survivors, current battlers and their loved ones can openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and triumphs. Whether sharing personal stories, offering advice, or seeking guidance, the group provides a platform for survivors and their support networks to connect, learn from one another, and find solace in knowing they are not alone. JOIN US!!

San Antonio Neighbors Together is an annual event held on the first Tuesday of October each year. The event focuses on strengthening relationships between local police and the communities they serve. At these events, neighborhoods connect with City departments, and learn tips on crime prevention. We will have local small business vendors, resource vendors, live music, food and more so come on out, bring your blankets and lawn chairs, meet your neighbors and enjoy!!

We will have a DJ along with several local Vendors, Food Trucks & more!

Also, our 3rd Annual Night Out Lights Out 3-Point Contest Sponsored by Old Head Basketball is also taking place with.
