The Challenges For Media In Covering Donald Trump

Three weeks after the election, the tension between President-elect Donald Trump and mainstream media organizations continues.

A conflict broke out this week when Trump tweeted claims that he had actually won the popular vote if it weren’t for millions of people voting illegally. Media organizations including CNN have refuted that claim, and Trump has sent a number of tweets denouncing CNN since.

The new political environment raises questions for journalists about when to call things lies, how to approach the administration, and how to best serve the public. Here & Now‘s Robin Young discusses with NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik ( @davidfolkenflik).
