First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs will build a new sanctuary and community center. The announcement Tuesday by church officials comes nearly five months after a gunman killed over two dozen people during a Sunday church service in November. The new buildings are expected to be completed by next spring.

 


Conspiracy theorists questioning whether the mass shooting at a Texas church last November actually happened have been harassing survivors for months. Now, the church’s pastor is pushing back.

Congressman Henry Cuellar is taking the man many credit with stopping the Sutherland Springs gunman to President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday. Stephen Willeford, 55, fired at the gunman as he left First Baptist Church.

Ryland Ward, one of the 20 people injured during the Sutherland Springs church shooting, got  a  ride home in a fire truck Jan. 11 after two months in the hospital. He turned 6 while undergoing treatment.

University Hospital in San Antonio released the last victim of the Sutherland Springs shooting Thursday.

Ryland Ward, who turned six while undergoing treatment for five gunshot wounds, got a ride home in  a fire truck driven by Assistant Fire Chief Rusty Duncan of nearby Stockdale.

A five-year-old boy is one of the last victims from the Sutherland Springs shooting that remains hospitalized. Now family members believe he could be out of San Antonio’s University Hospital in a few weeks.

A mass shooting Nov. 5 in a Sutherland Springs church claimed 26 lives.  More than half a dozen of those killed came from one family, the Holcombes, who are now taking legal action.

This month’s mass shooting at a Texas church has raised questions of whether the military does enough to help former service members with bad conduct discharges. They're not eligible for veterans' mental health care.

Ten of the two dozen victims in the Sutherland Springs Church shooting in Texas were remembered at a service Wednesday.

The Holcombe name is very recognizable in Wilson County. Bryan Holcombe, 60, was filling as pastor at First Baptist the day of the shooting. He and his wife Karla were killed that Sunday along with others members of their family.
