When Facing Eviction, How Can Legal Counsel Help?

Renters are also impacted by the lack of affordable housing in San Antonio. In 2016, about 27 families were evicted every day. What are the legal options for someone facing eviction?

The City of San Antonio allocated funds from the FY2020 budget for a "Right to Counsel" program, which aims to connect renters facing eviction with the legal representation they could not otherwise afford. How does it work and what are the biggest challenges?

 Of approximately 16,000 eviction filings in Bexar County in 2018, less than 1% were decided in the tenant's favor. How valuable is legal representation when dealing with this kind of case? What are your rights as a tenant facing eviction?
