Will Keith Toney Or Jada Andrews-Sullivan Bring Stability To San Antonio's District 2?

Courtesey of candidates

On June 8, voters will decide between runoff candidates Jada Andrews-Sullivan and Keith Toney to represent District 2 – which covers most of San Antonio's East Side – on City Council.

A candidate must receive over 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff. Toney received 27 percent of the vote in the May 4 election while Andrews- Sullivan earned 22 percent.

Jada Andrews-Sullivan lists development, infrastructure, public safety and economic develpment as her top priorites. Keith Toney, who briefly represented the district in 2014, is seeking to regain the seat.

District 2 has had four representives on the San Antonio City Council since Ivy Taylor left the seat to become interim mayor in 2014. Who can bring stable leadership to what has long seemed like a revolving-door position?

Crime, gentrification, and street infrastructure are some of the top issues for voters in District 2. What are the candidates' plans to address those concerns?
