SA Cancer Foundation Pledges $17 Million To CTRC

It’s being called a landmark gift.

The San Antonio Cancer Foundation is pledging $17 million to support the new affiliation between the University of Texas Health Science Center's Cancer Therapy and Research Center and M-D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

The money will be used for physician and faculty recruitment.

​"With this gift, the San Antonio Cancer Foundation want to provide some of the resources needed to help support this affiliation," said Gary V. Woods, chairman of the board of the San Antonio Cancer Foundation. "We are proud to be a part of the new UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The collaboration between the two U-T system cancer centers becomes operational in the summer of 2017.
