University Hospital Opens Children's Emergency Department

University Hospital opened its separate dedicated Children's Emergency Department on Nov. 16, 2016.

San Antonio’s University Hospital opened an emergency department just for children on Nov. 18, 2016.

The pediatric E.D. has 16 patient rooms, a procedure room and a behavioral health room.

Pediatric specialists from the UT Health Science Center medical school will also treat children with serious and complex medical issues.

University Hospital is located at 4502 Medical Drive.
