San Antonio Food Bank Asking For Turkey Donations

The San Antonio Food Bank says it currently needs another 3,500 turkeys to serve its needy clients throughout the holidays.

It’s asking for donations of frozen birds or other protein item, including hams and chickens.

The Food Bank says the shortage is probably a result of increased turkey prices that have decreased donations.

Those able to help can donate frozen birds or make a monetary donation.

Food Bank volunteers will be accepting donations this Saturday at the following event:

Turkey Roundup

Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

HEB Store on U.S. 281 and Evans Road.

Donations can also be made at:

The San Antonio Food Bank Lobby

Location:  5200 W Old US Highway 90

Times: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

Telephone:  210.431.8474

Donations may also be made online at this link.
