Attention all youth filmmakers, save the date! URBAN-15 and the Josiah Media Festival announce their call for entries for the 18th Josiah media Festival! Filmmakers must be 21 years old or younger, and submit their films between May 1st, 2024 and August 1st, 2024.
Entry Guidelines:
• Filmmakers must be 21 years old or younger• Films must not exceed 20 minutes• Filmmakers must complete all required forms and submit films in valid format, more information at URBAN15.org• Films will be entered into one of four categories: Narrative, Documentary, Animation or Experimental
The Josiah Media Festival will award cash prizes for the top three winners in each film category!

Experience the world-premiere of Huntopia: Bunnies, Birds, and Butterflies at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
Created by famed artist, Hunt Slonem, this outdoor art exhibit creates a whimsical world filled with the iconic colorful bunnies, birds, and butterflies the artists has been painting for decades.
Slonem's signature animal muses will be giant-sized for plenty of photo-worthy moments for families and friends throughout the Garden’s 38 acres.

Join the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s largest, most impactful fundraising event Take Steps. We'll come together as a dedicated community of supporters to walk and raise funds for those living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Funds raised through Take Steps help to accelerate research, advance treatments, and provide education and support programs to improve quality of life for those living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The walk is a short one-mile walk bringing together friends and family of all ages!
The 2024 Food & Nature Education Conference is a live AND virtual event focusing on the actions being taken by local organizations in San Antonio, Texas to address food insecurity and climate change.
The conference's goal is to raise awareness and demonstrate simple solutions that can be implemented right now to ensure that future generations are able to lead happy and healthy lives.

A yoga or Zumba fitness class will kick off each market at 9 a.m.! All fitness levels are welcome.
Find fresh, locally sourced foods and explore the handmade crafts and products from local pop-up vendors. Healthy cooking demos, nutrition education sessions, and seasonal Tree Adoptions hosted by the San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department.

The Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio is the first and longest-running Conjunto Festival in the country and is internationally recognized as the most influential event for this beloved and popular South Texas musical tradition. The highlight of the 42nd Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival is the opportunity to hear the very best in Conjunto music from all across the many different styles played in Texas.
The 42nd Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival in 2024 encompasses five days of live performances and dancing, including a special Seniors Dance and Conjunto Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The TCF crowd has continually grown over the years, and draws an enthusiastic audience of approximately 9,000 fans, dancers, and musicians from across Texas and the United States, as well as Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
Each spring for the past four decades, the Conjunto Festival en San Antonio has presented live performances of all of the founders, popular performers, and heritage award winners of the genre, along with dances, workshops, Hall of Fame inductions, and other events. The festival has become a model for many other conjunto festivals which have appeared since it started and is credited with highlighting the singular music and culture of South Texas Tejanos.

Join us to learn how to raise native caterpillars to butterflies from your very own home! With the help of Alamo Area Master Naturalist Derrick Mims and our BLC experts, participants are provided the knowledge and materials to support butterflies throughout their entire life cycle.
Caterpillar Kit supplies are limited to the first 10 participants (one per household), who will receive a growing container and host plant (food) for the caterpillar. There will also be pollinator seeds for all that attend.
The Butterfly Learning Center is an outdoor garden and learning space, located in the Voelcker Historic Homestead. It is a project by the Alamo Area Master Naturalists, maintained by a crew of Master Naturalist Volunteers.
