This is a call for much needed volunteers for community events we host on the Southeast side of San Antonio, Texas! All our events are open to the public and to all of San Antonio. Our goal is to help bring much needed resource vendors to our neck of the woods and help support the many small businesses that make up our beautiful city! We are always in need of Volunteers to help with this events, from greeting attendees, answering questions, helping with event setup, giveaways, etc.

Join Thousand Oaks Library for a delightful program to learn about the Chinese Tea Ceremony! Participants will sample Chinese tea and mooncakes. Our presenter will also teach how to draw a few characters in Chinese calligraphy. All supplies provided.
NOTE: This program is strictly first-come, first-serve. Seating is limited to the first 20 people to arrive. The target audience for this program is adults but teens are also welcome to attend with an adult.
Play Together, Make Friends, Get Support!
In this five-week series we will play together and engage in activities that encourage learning and healthy development while meeting and playing with other children and caregivers.
Each week, we'll also have a topic expert on hand to chat and play. You'll be able to ask questions and get information on raising healthy, happy children.
This program is designed for children 0-3 and their parents/caregivers. Older siblings welcome, too!
This beginner-friendly course is specially designed for older adults and individuals whose first language is Spanish. Students will learn the basics of using a computer, including how to use the keyboard and mouse, navigate the desktop, browse the internet safely, and use everyday programs like email, word processing, and video calls.The course also introduces common computer terms in both English and Spanish to help students build confidence using technology at home, at work, or to stay in touch with family and friends. No previous computer experience is needed.
This class is held once a week for four weeks, and each lesson builds on the last. For the best learning experience, attendance at all four classes is very important.

Slow down, look closely, and draw inspiration from the art on view. This new monthly program invites participants to spend the lunch hour sketching a single artwork from the McNay’s collection.
Each session begins with a brief group discussion, followed by a series of quick gestural sketches and longer observational drawing. Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of learning by sketching masterworks, this program is open to teens and adults of all experience levels. Basic sketching materials provided.

The South Texas Knockouts are more than just a derby team — we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving youth ages 5–18 across San Antonio. Our program builds athletes, leaders, and community while keeping roller derby affordable and inclusive.

The South Texas Knockouts is a co-ed junior roller derby league for kids aged 5-17, with a focus on teamwork, athleticism, communication, and inclusivity.
Interested parties can contact us at southtexasskater18@gmail.com to get on the entry list and start waivers. Official onboarding is the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, but any practice is available for a spectator pass to see if it's something your child would be interested in.
The regular 2025/2026 season begins on Sept 15th. Practice is Monday and Wednesday, 7pm-9pm, at Trader's Village.
Club dues are $40/mo for the first skater and $25/mo for each additional skater. Once onboarded, every skater will go through an 8-week boot camp before being sorted into their appropriate skill level.
For interested adults, we also have The South Texas Regulators under the WFTDA for ages 18 and up.
Spectator pass is free for those considering joining. Upon joining, club dues are $40 per month for the first skater and $25 for each additional skater.
