Each piece reflects the imagination and warmth of the season, showcasing the exceptional talent of our creative community.The exhibition was juried by Patricia A. Karr, former owner of Artisans – A Texas Gallery in Fredericksburg, a respected space known for its vibrant curation of Texas-based fine art and fine craft. With years of experience managing exhibitions, Karr brings a keen eye for originality, quality, and accessibility, ensuring that Season of Lights reflects the very best of SAAL+M’s member artists.Visitors are warmly invited to the Public Opening Reception on Sunday, November 16, from 3–5 PM, where they can meet the artists and purchase works directly from the exhibition—take-home purchases are available immediately.As an added celebration, SAAL+M will host a Tax-Free Holiday Thank-You on Friday and Saturday, December 5 & 6, allowing visitors to shop tax-free in all galleries—including the Small Works Gallery and the Members Upstairs Gallery—thanks to the museum’s nonprofit status.

The Bugs, Bikes, & Botany: Nature Adventure Kit Program invites families to experience the Mission Reach from a whole new angle—a bug’s-eye view! Brought to you by the San Antonio River Foundation, BiblioTech and San Antonio BCycle, with support from PeopleForBikes and the Better Bike Share Partnership, this program is your ticket to a wilder side of San Antonio, where each bike ride introduces you to both our city’s unique nature and the perks of using BCycle, San Antonio’s bikeshare system.
100% of all proceeds are dedicated to Woodlawn Point Center for Community (WPCC)
• Free art show (with all local artists to include a section for student artists from “For the Culture Homeschool”) open to the public from 3PM to 5PM (art can be viewed till 6pm)• 5pm to 6pm we transition to the auditorium with live music form Karl Lubbering and his Trio.
There is a $20 donation to enter which will include a fashion show and dance. Fashion show starts at 6pm and is presented by Project Prom Dress and introduced by local recording artist Jimmy James. The dance starts at 7pm with DJ Pete Rendon.

Experience the West - remixed, refined, and reborn on Thursday, November 20, 5 PM - 8 PM at Period Modern for a special holiday pop-up with El Paso-based border artist Lee Beach. Meet the artist and explore new works that reimagine early 20th-century cowboy photography through a contemporary lens — blending pop art, gold leaf, and mixed media on cotton rag paper. Also featuring select favorites including the Topo Chico series, this one-night event celebrates the enduring myth and modern spirit of the American.

Join the San Antonio Public Library and San Antonio Gender Association in honoring transgender, two-spirit, and gender-diverse lives lost to violence over the past year. After a resource fair, the San Antonio Public Library will host an open mic for people to share memories, songs, poems, and speeches.
