Angel Cintron Is Catching Her Dreams

Nathan Cone
Angel Cintron

Angel Cintron is a 20-year old pop artist from San Antonio. You may not have heard of her, but her 50,000 monthly listeners on Spotify certainly have. She released her debut album Dream Catcher at the end of May, and she stopped by Studio B40 earlier this month to discuss the new album, and to perform a few of the recently released tracks.

During the interview, Cintron discussed the importance of dreams in her songwriting.

“Going into making the album I had no idea what it was going to be called, and I had no idea what the theme was going to be,” Cintron said. “But I realized without trying that I had dream references in almost every single one of my songs. I think it’s because I do take a lot of my feelings and my lyrics from my dreams, or my daydreaming, or me just dozing off and thinking a lot.”

Cintron is determined to stick to the plan of her becoming a full time musician.

“I kind of look at it as me, myself, being a dream catcher and throwing away all of the close-minded adults and people that have anything to say about what I want to do with my life.”

For the performance, Cintron was accompanied by guitarist George Ice, allowing her to focus entirely on her vocal performance. Her vocal range is on full display for this B40 session.
