Fredericksburg Chorale Brings Old And New Together For Christmas Concerts

Fredericksburg Chorale

Christmas Concert includes Bach, Saint-Saens and Hierholzer

It is a busy time of year, but the Fredericksburg Chorale are prepared and ready for three concerts Friday and Saturday.

"We have all ages: sixteen, seventeen, twenty-year-olds to ninety, and ninety-five-year-old members! It really is a great mix, and a delight to hear the teamwork," says director Mark Hierholzer.

Hierholzer will have a new work on the program and lead selections from the keyboard.

"I have to take it from the chorale about the audience reactions, since my back is to the audience, accompanying the choir from the piano. But it has grown so much over the last few years, we are now doing three concerts at Joseph Halle."

The concert is open to the public with donations accepted, and refreshments will served.

John Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania.
