In three days there will be the dedication and grand opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
This is something new.
It is a Smithsonian Institution museum on the national mall that will tell the American story of African Americans.
While this is a Washington D.C. event - there's no reason why this shouldn't also be a national celebration.
It's a chance to talk about America's most horrible episodes, heroic individuals, triumphs over struggle and how we can include all our stories into American history.
Guest:
- Michele Norris - former NPR host of All Things Considered and the author of a National Geographic feature story about the museum called "I Too Am America."
