The Source: Texas Considering Call For Constitutional Convention

Jonathan Thorne http://bit.ly/1wI5mlh

A week from today the Texas  House committee on State and Federal Power and Responsibility will hold a hearing. The topic - Article FIVE of the U.S. Constitution. Texas is considering joining a drive of state legislatures to re-write the constitution.

This is something that Governor Greg Abbott supports so much he wrote a book about it. He has a wish list of 9 constitutional amendments that will radically change American government and our way of life.

But should we automatically fear and fret over a constitutional convention of states? Or is this just what the framers intended.

Guest:

  • Christopher Phillips, fellow at the National Constitution Center, author of several books including "Constitution Cafe"

Phillips will be in San Antonio at the Barnes & Noble on San Pedro 9.15.16 at 7 p.m. to promote his new book "The Philosophy of Childing: Unlocking Creativity, Curiousity and Reason"
