The Source: The Search For An HIV Vaccine

NIAID / http://bit.ly/1oL0JnZ

The AIDS epidemic has killed 35 million people. 1.2 million Americans are living with it right now, and 50,000 are infected each year in this country. The best hope for ending this disease is a vaccine, and the search for that vaccine is going on here in San Antonio at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. Their AIDS research program received $23 million in funding - the largest in the organizations history - to develop  a vaccine that would prevent HIV infections from the National Institutes of Health.
