Karnes Detention Center Also is being considered for a license to hold children

A temporary restraining order is all that prevents the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services from issuing a child care license to the South Texas Family Residential Care Center in Dilley Texas - just south of San Antonio.

This is a detention center for children who are in the country illegally - who have fled violence and poverty in Central America.

It's expected that tomorrow a judge will hear arguments over if the detention center should be granted the needed license.

Guest:

  • Jonathan Ryan -  executive director of RAICES - Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services
  • Bob Libal - executive director of Grassroots Leadership - which is one of the complainants in this case.
