The idea of brithright citizenship has been the norm in this Country since the 14th Amendment was passed more than a century ago.
This political cycle, as with cycles passed, the constitutionality and practicality of the idea is being challenged from the right, first by GOP front runner Donald Trump.
A bandwagon of other politicians have come out supporting doing away with birthright citizenship. Some, like Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, would have a hard time deciding, positing three different positions in a single week on the highly controversial topic. Walker, along with many of the GOP candidates were put in a tough spot by the far-right position.
While these politicos talk about whether children of immigrants born in this country deserve to be Americans, few are talking about what the impact of such a policy change would be for society.
What would happen to the economy? How would we divide our society?
