Large amounts of debris from the demolition site of the Solo Serve building fell into the San Antonio River Walk on Wednesday. About a dozen large plywood boards, scaffolding, and pieces of the once historic building tumbled into river around 3:30 p.m.  Visitor Tim Heidimenn was inside his hotel and saw it collapse.

"They had the protective scaffolding and plywood over that length of sidewalk there and something came and hit it and it just started kind of a chain reaction and it all tumbled into the river," Heidimenn said.

City officials say There were no injuries as the portion of the River Walk was closed to pedestrians. Hansco, Inc. began demolition of the building last week to make room for a new hotel. The company will be responsible for the clean-up.
