The 2016 election brought Bexar County voters to the polls in huge numbers.

More than 475,000 people voted early, 38,000 by mail, and more than 110,000 voted yesterday on election day.

Bexar County Elections Administrator Jacque Callanen said Tuesday's polling went smoothly.

"I’ve been in this office 21 years. And I’ve been the elections administrator for 11 years," Callanen said. "And this has been the most high energy one we’ve had. A lot of interest. We had a lot of people that showed up at the polls still that were not registered to vote that had to fill in provisional ballots. We saw a lot of that."

Callanen said overall voting went very smoothly in Bexar County yesterday with very few glitches.
