An open house this Thursday evening will offer residents and business owners the chance to talk with state officials about proposed improvements to the Hwy 281 North corridor.
Texas Department of Transportation representatives will offer a look at the changes between Loop 1604 and Borgfeld Road, which include two general-purpose lanes and one HOV lane in each direction.
The HOV lanes were proposed as an alternative to toll lanes, which were originally proposed but lacked community support.
Also to be included in the project are bicycle and pedestrian facilities, four additional interchange connectors at Loop 1604, and a direct connection to the VIA Park and Ride to be built at Stone Oak Parkway.
