Hail And Rain Expected Tonight

A cold front coming out of North Texas combining with a system coming out of Mexico is going to create thunderstorms in the San Antonio area this evening.  These storms are expected to develop in the Hill Country late this afternoon then move across the area and be gone by midnight.

Meteorologist Aaron Treadway with the National Weather Service in New Braunfels says some of these storms could be severe.

"Large hail is our main concern; maybe quarter size to golf ball sized hail; some straight line winds of 50 to 60 miles per hour are possible; and frequent lightening and brief heavy rain with at least the stronger storms are the main threat. We're not really looking at any tornado threat with these, but the hail and the wind is what we're really looking at."

The rest of the weekend will be cool and dry with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.
