SA Police Contract Agreement Expected This Week

This week – that’s when negotiators for the City of San Antonio and the Police Officers Association

say they expect to finally reach an agreement on a new police contract.

The two sides have wrangled for more than a year over salaries and healthcare benefits for officers and their families.

Among developments Tuesday was a new offer by the city that would continue to give police dependents two more years of health insurance with no premium costs.

Police Association President Mike Helle told reporters an agreement appears close.
