The Bugs, Bikes, & Botany: Nature Adventure Kit Program invites families to experience the Mission Reach from a whole new angle—a bug’s-eye view! Brought to you by the San Antonio River Foundation, BiblioTech and San Antonio BCycle, with support from PeopleForBikes and the Better Bike Share Partnership, this program is your ticket to a wilder side of San Antonio, where each bike ride introduces you to both our city’s unique nature and the perks of using BCycle, San Antonio’s bikeshare system.
The Business and Professional Toastmasters club meets every Friday at 12:05PM. Guests are always welcomed. Each year, SAJF distributes grants to nonprofits in the San Antonio region for specific projects that will benefit economically, emotionally and/or physically disadvantaged individuals. In 2024-2025, we distributed $75,000 to 14 nonprofits in our community! We are pleased to announce that we will again be accepting applications for grants. Grant applications may be submitted by organizations recognized as tax exempt under internal revenue code 501(c)3 seeking funding of $20,000 or less. Now is the time to get started! St. Philip’s College is proud to announce its eighth annual Texas Veterans Fair, an event dedicated to honoring and supporting the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. This year’s event is co-sponsored by State Rep. Barbara Gervin-Hawkins, Dist. 120. The fair includes services, resources, information, and opportunities for service members, retirees, and families. The event is free and open to the public. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost.
San Antonio’s premier and longest-running Day of the Dead celebration, Muertos Fest at Hemisfair, returns for its 13th year with a vibrant, two-day festival – FREE to the public on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26. Named one of the “7 Best Fall Festivals in the USA” by National Geographic and featured on the 12th season of the Food Channel’s Carnival Eats and CBS Saturday Morning, Muertos Fest blends traditional Día de los Muertos elements with a curated mix of local art, food, live music, and entertainment. The event includes a multi-stage lineup of live performances, dance and poetry; the largest open altar exhibition in San Antonio; Muertos Market is an arts curated market featuring original Day of the Dead crafts and artwork from local artisans; and enhanced processions of drum and dance, workshops, children’s programming and more.
