We hope to see everyone this Saturday (and every Saturday)!
Join us for a morning of book tasting!
What is a book tasting? Book tasting is an opportunity to explore new genres, writing styles, and more without the guilt of not finishing a book. Attendees will take a look over our book menu, pick an item or two to try and spend about 10 minutes reading their selection, after which they can choose to check the item out to take home to complete, or return their item. Attendees are encouraged to try several different items off the menu to broaden their reading!
Please reach out to Alex DePree (alex@mfplibrary.org) if you have any questions.
Come join gardening enthusiasts for an awesome in-person event by SA Composting Project to exchange seeds and learn about saving seeds! Are you ready to ramp up your garden?
Join us to learn about how to safely save your seeds while adding new ones to your collection. Attendees are encouraged (but not required) to bring seeds and extra seedlings to trade with other garden enthusiasts! We especially encourage sharing seeds from native and drought-tolerant plants.

Artist Gina Davison is blending her work as a commercial food photographer with her artistic expression with “foodie” still life highlighted in an exhibition titled “Food Stories,” featuring 15 new and recent photographic works as part of Fotoseptiembre, that opens with a reception from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Bihl Haus Arts Gallery, 2803 Fredericksburg Road. The exhibition runs through Sept. 27.
“Food is more than just something that physically sustains us,” Davison explained. “There are so many different aspects to it. There’s a saying that ‘we eat with our eyes,’ and food is a very visual experience. But it can also be political whereas food can be plenty and immediately available to the wealthy, but not always so accessible to the poor.”
Overall, “Food Stories,” the artist said, will illustrate people’s love or appetite for food.

The best laid plans go awry when the cast and crew of a Broadway-bound play resort to manipulation, diva-like behavior, and chaotic abandon to get what they want. Fledgling playwright Jerry Przpezniak and his fiancee are a couple of Buffalo greenhorns suddenly swept up in the whirlwind of New York’s theater scene when Jerry’s play is optioned for the big money, ego-driven world of Broadway. It’s a young playwright’s dream, but the crazy characters and dilemmas they encounter are the things theatrical nightmares are made of.
