On Wednesday evening, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), U.S. Reps. Mario Díaz-Balart (R-Florida) and Rudy Yakam (R-Indiana) visited a VFW near the Mission Marquee Plaza in San Antonio, where they mingled with veterans and local officials at a campaign event for first-time congressional hopeful Carlos De La Cruz. -
The packed chamber was split between those who said voters are being shut out and those who believe a county vote last year should suffice. -
City staff proposes raising fees on everything from Alamodome parking to trash carts and missing library books to balance the budget. -
By putting Pre-K 4 SA funding out to voters well ahead of the deadline, the council hopes to take advantage of Democratic enthusiasm from the midterms.
