'This Is A War Zone': Hurricane Michael Leaves Deadly Trail Through Southeast

Updated at 12:45 p.m. ET At least 11 people have died from Hurricane Michael, which slammed into Florida's Panhandle with 155-mph winds on Wednesday. The storm hacked a trail of catastrophic destruction in Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia before finally heading back out over water. Five deaths were reported in Virginia, in addition to four in Florida, one in Georgia and one in North Carolina. Beto O'Rourke Says He's Raised $38.1 Million Since July — Vastly Out-raising Ted Cruz

Congressman Beto O'Rourke (D-El Paso) says he's raised $38.1 million since July 1 for his effort to unseat incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Ted Cruz this November. Last week, Cruz said he raised $12 million in the same period, which was a record for a Republican candidate.

Remembering Actress Mercedes McCambridge

McCambridge died March 2 at the age of 87. McCambridge chilled audiences in the 1970s as the voice of the Devil in The Exorcist. She won an Academy Award for her first film role -- in 1949 for All the King's Men. She also starred with Joan Crawford in Nicholas Ray's western, Johnny Guitar.

The 96th season of first-class chamber music from the Tuesday Musical Club's Artist Series opens this week with the sounds of the award-winning Trio con Brio Copenhagen at 2 p.m. on October 9, at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church. The group is based in Denmark and was formed in 1999 by pianist Jens Elvekjaer, and sisters Soo-Jin Hong and Soo-Kyung Hong (to whom Elvekjaer is married).

HemisFair '68 was held April 6 to Oct. 6, 1968. The theme of the fair was the confluence of civilization in the Americas.

Fifty years ago, HemisFair '68 opened its gates. The international extravaganza, held at the heart of the city, opened on April 6, 1968, and closed six months later on Oct. 6th.

As San Antonio celebrates its 300th birthday, HemisFair '68 celebrates its 50th. The world's fair opened April 6, 1968, closed six months later, and San Antonio would never be the same.
