At the recent Texas Republican Convention delegates approved a platform opposing In vitro fertilization - medical procedure primarily used to treat infertility and help individuals or couples achieve a successful pregnancy.The platform itself doesn't change Texas law but it sets the course for conservatives to do so in the future.

The politics of ending vaccine requirements in Texas is in conflict with the reality of a raging measles outbreak in West Texas. Texans for Vaccine Choice, a powerful political action committee, has been leading the fight to weaken vaccination requirements.

Republicans decided to not use voting machines and instead count ballots by hand.
