Mid Texas Symphony

Two Nordic composers highlight the upcoming concert from the Mid-Texas Symphony, on Sunday, Nov. 3 in New Braunfels.

Akiko Fujimoto, music director of the Mid-Texas Symphony since 2019, recently sat down with TPR's Nathan Cone and offers a peek behind the musical curtain when it comes to preparing the orchestra for performance.

The Mid-Texas Symphony in September invited pianist Jeffrey Biegel to perform George Gershwin's famous 'Rhapsody In Blue.' Biegel also brought along a brand-new piece by Peter Boyer, 'Rhapsody in Red, White and Blue.' Hear both pieces, and more American music, in this full-concert program!

At this concert recorded Nov. 5, 2023 in New Braunfels, the Mid-Texas Symphony brought two larger works of classical music influenced by folk elements, as well as the South Texas return of violin soloist Nancy Zhou. Hear the full program at the link!
