When Palo Alto College began offering classes in 1985, it was San Antonio's only public higher education option available south of Highway 90.

Community leaders who championed for higher education on the city's South side are credited with its genesis.

The school maintains strong ties in south San Antonio, providing higher education to anyone who wants it and implementing innovative initiatives including a community resource center with a public food pantry, clothes closet, and health and wellness resources.

How is Palo Alto changing the traditional perception of the city's South side? What efforts is the school making to accomplish its mission to inspire, empower and educate the community for leadership and success?

Guest: Dr. Mike Flores, president of Palo Alto College
