Texas Matters: Texas Horror

Texas is known for its writers of almost every genre – but maybe not so much for its writers of horror. And that could be seen as an oversight. The Texas talent pool has it’s dark side. And there is so much about the lone star state that is lurking in the shadows – and haunting the recesses of our minds.

The current leading Texas horror writers are collected in a new anthology called “Road Kill: Texas Horror by Texas Writers.”

An ancient demon plays cowboy and takes on the Texas Rangers. Three teenage girls sneak into a “body farm.” An aging African American couple defies the Grim Reaper. An FBI agent discovers an entire city that’s gone to the “dogs.” A handyman learns that the fixer-upper he’s working on has a doorway to the past that’s way out of square. And a pack of possums get into politics. Join seventeen Texas authors for a supernatural spin on the twisting freeways and dark back roads that wind through the Lone Star State.

Writers contributing to this project include some of the top Si-Fi and Horror writers from the Lone Star State including Joe R. Lansdale, David Bowles, Russell C. Connor, Anna L. Davis, Stephen Patrick, Tom Alexander, Michael H. Price, Joe McKinney, Alan Beauvais, Michael Baldwin, David Robledo, Carmen Gray, Glen Coburn, Ernie Lee, Tom Bont, E. R. Bills and Bret McCormick.
